BBC School Radio
BBC School Radio have been updating pages across the site to offer a bold new look, which they hope you will like and find simple to use. The new pages are fully responsive - meaning they are optimised for display on mobile, tablet and desktop devices.
BBC School Radio offers a wide range of audio and video resources for primary schools, with an emphasis on the Expressive Arts and stories. The content can be browsed on our website by subject or age group, and all of the programmes and clips remain live on the site for a minimum of 5 years, allowing you to plan ahead with confidence.
School Radio programmes are carefully targeted to fit curriculum objectives, and are often created with the non-specialist teacher in mind - eg our content to support Music. Popular programmes include the dance series Let’s Move and Dance Workshop, the music series Music: Key Stage 1 and Time and Tune, as well as our resources to support assemblies and Collective Worship.
Our website is also rich in Early Years content, with a comprehensive collection of nursery rhymes and songs. There are also animations of traditional stories, including: Jack and the Beanstalk and Red Riding Hood and, for older pupils, there are adaptations of plays by Shakespeare including Macbeth and The Tempest and abridgements of popular children's fiction including Carrie's War and Private Peaceful. |

BBC School Radio for English
School Radio offers a number of teaching resources to support the primary English curriculum at KS1 and KS2 and a new abridgement of the original text of Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for KS3 and KS4. Programmes target the key learning objectives of the curriculum and all resources for English also have this purpose in common: to exploit the magic of audio and stimulate the imagination of the listener.
